     Jonathan Slocum was born on 1 May 1735 at Kent County, Rhode Island.¹ He was the son of Joseph Slocum.¹ Jonathan Slocum married Ruth Tripp, daughter of Isaac Tripp, on 23 February 1757. Jonathan Slocum died on 16 December 1778 at Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, at age 43.¹

     Ruth Tripp was born on 21 March 1736 at Portsmouth, Rhode Island. She was the daughter of Isaac Tripp. Ruth Tripp married Jonathan Slocum, son of Joseph Slocum, on 23 February 1757. Ruth Tripp died on 6 May 1807 at age 71.

     Frances Slocum was born in March 1773. She was the daughter of Jonathan Slocum and Ruth Tripp. Frances Slocum died on 9 March 1849.¹
     Frances Slocum captured by Delaware Indians at the age of 4, and found by her family about 60 years later. She had married an Indian war chief of the Miamis, named She-pan-can-ah (deaf man), and left two daughters, Ke-ke-se-qua and O-zah-wah-shing-qua. She had been taught to fear and distrust white people, and no longer remembered the English language. on 2 November 1778.¹

     Edward Thurston was born in 1617. He married Elizabeth Mott, daughter of Adam Mott and Sarah Lott, in June 1647.¹ Edward Thurston died in March 1707 at Newport, Rhode Island.
     Edward Thurston marriage to Elizabeth was the third marriage on the record of the Society of Friends in Newport. He was a freeman in 1655, a commissioner and assistant deputy 1663 to 1690. On Aug 26, 1686 he, with others, signed an address from the Quakers of Rhode Island to the King.¹
