Memories of Granddaughter Gladys Irene Pearson.⁴ He was a farmer.¹

     Marie Theresa Schollaert was born on 29 November 1868 at Charleroi, Belgium; Mary Theresa emigrated to Montana via Canada from Belgium. One of her relatives was Prime Minister. Granda White spoke French, and always spoke English with a cute accent. In her youth she stood 4 ft 10 in tall. But in later years, shrunk! Grandma laughed a lot...even when she was sad. One daughter, Charlotte, had a bad case of measles in childhood which left her ill the balance of her life, and unable to walk. Grandma tried in every way possible to get healing for that girl ...even to spending an entire winter in Santa Monica, California, so she could be near the ocean, and near Angelus Temple where prayer was made for her. But healing was not to be for Charlotte, and she was a constant care for Grandma until her death.
Memories of granddaughter Gladys Irene Pearson.¹ She was the daughter of Francois Schollaert and Melanie Husmore. Marie Theresa Schollaert married John Eliphalet White, son of Charles White and Catherine Haley, in 1888 at Bismarck, North Dakota.² Marie Theresa Schollaert died on 7 July 1967 at Kalispell, MT, USA, at age 98.¹ She was buried at Conrad Memorial Cemetery, Kalispell, Flathead County, Montana.³
     Her married name was White. She From an article in the Interlake Newspaper, Kalispell, Montana, on the occasion of two nursing home residents approaching the age of 100;

Two residents of Immanuel Lutheran Home whose combined ages total 196 years, celebrated their birthdays late in November.

Mrs. Adelaide Gillespie, formerly of Helena, was 99 on Nov. 28 and Mrs. Mary T. White of Kalispell was 97 on Nov. 29.

Mrs. White, the mother of eight children, is a native of Belgium. She came with her parents and other family members from Europe to Pennsylvania and with them later moved to North Dakota. She met and married John White in Bismarck, N.D. in 1988.

They came to Helena where White operated a feed store. Mr. and Mrs. White arrived in the Flathead Valley in 1899. The family made the trip in two wagons, one driven by her husband and the other by her sister, the late Mrs. Ida Searles of Kalispell.

Mrs. White says "I was a walker but not much of a horsewoman."

Mr. and Mrs. White were the parents of eight children. With her for her birthday were her oldest daughter, Mrs. Clinton W. (Bessie) Pearson of Portland, Ore., and her youngest son, Howard D. White of Columbia Falls. Other family members include Charles L. White of Boise, Idaho; Mrs. Hattie M. Martin of Spangle, Wash; Charlotte, deceased; Mrs. Alice Wiles Bartlette of Roseburg, Ore; Bertha L. Sperry of Seattle; and Parker W. White of San Diego.

Mrs. White, who has lived at Immanuel Lutheran Home since shortly after it opened, broke her hip about a year ago and since then has moved about in a wheelchair.

She says, "Laughing and singing have helped me through some hard times."

Her gay spirit is reflected in her sparkling, dancing eyes. in 1965.²

     Charles White was born on 14 February 1825 at Gloucestershire, England.¹ He was the son of William White and Mary Parker.¹ Charles White was baptized on 22 July 1829.¹ He married Catherine Haley on 31 October 1848 at Murray River Church of Scotland, Lot 64, Prince Edward Island, Canada.¹ Charles White married Elizabeth Macleod after 26 August 1875.¹ Charles White died on 31 October 1879 at Lot 64, Cape Bear, Prince Edward Island, Canada, at age 54.¹

     Catherine Haley was born on 1 February 1829 at Magdalene Islands, Quebec, Canada.¹ She married Charles White, son of William White and Mary Parker, on 31 October 1848 at Murray River Church of Scotland, Lot 64, Prince Edward Island, Canada.¹ Catherine Haley died on 25 August 1875 at Cape Bear, Lot 64, Prince Edward Island, Canada, at age 46.¹
     Her married name was White.

     Benjamin F Pearson was born circa 1818 at Adams County, Pennsylvania.¹ He married Margaret Ann Mcteer Campbell, daughter of William Campbell and Margaret Sloan, on 27 February 1853 at Mc Donough, Illinois.^2,3
     Benjamin F Pearson enlisted in the Civil War near Springfield, Mo and served in the 24th Missouri Volunteer Infantry Regiment. No pension applied for. In occupation he was a farmer. When he enlisted in 1861 he gave his place of residence as Barry County, Missouri.

Service: Enlisted into Company “F” the 20 August 1861 in Rolla, Missouri. Rank: Private. Height: 5’11”; Hair black; Eyes: dark; Complexion: dark.

Mustered into service the 14 October 1861 at St. Louis, Missouri. He was wounded in the leg at the Battle of Pea Ridge, Arkansas on the 7 March 1862. He was sent back to Springfield, Missouri. Discharged: 4 September 1862 at St. Louis, Missouri on account of wounds received at the Battle of Pea Ridge, Arkansas. Had first served in the Stone Prairie, Barry County Home Guards and then transferred to Company “M” of the Greene-Christian County Home Guards.^4,1 Benjamin F Pearson was also known as Benny F Pearson.

     Margaret Ann Mcteer Campbell was born circa 1822 at Blount or Monroe, TN, USA.¹ She was the daughter of William Campbell and Margaret Sloan.¹ Margaret Ann Mcteer Campbell married Benjamin F Pearson on 27 February 1853 at Mc Donough, Illinois.^2,3 Margaret Ann Mcteer Campbell died circa 1862-1865 at Blount or Monroe, TN, USA.^1,2
     Margaret Ann Mcteer Campbell was a frail woman who worked very hard while her husband was away at the war. She contracted a severe cold which settled into what they called "Quick Consumption" and died soon after the close of the war. Her married name was Pearson. She moved to Illinois. in January 1852.

     Ahlyja Michelle Pinson was born on 15 September 1993 at San Antonio, TX, USA. She died on 31 December 2007 at San Diego, San Diego County, CA, at age 14.

     Clifford William Ruth Jr was born on 1 July 1950 at Poughkeepsie, NY, USA. He was the son of Clifford William Ruth Sr and Josephine Edith Pepe. Clifford William Ruth Jr died on 14 July 2005 at Redding, Shasta, CA, at age 55.

     Norma Phoebe Pearson was born on 18 March 1917 at USA. She was the daughter of Clinton Wilbur Pearson and Bessie Adelaide White. Norma Phoebe Pearson married Roy Mourer. Norma Phoebe Pearson died on 31 October 2009 at Spring Valley, San Diego, CA, at age 92.
     Her married name was Mourer.

     Roy Mourer married Norma Phoebe Pearson, daughter of Clinton Wilbur Pearson and Bessie Adelaide White.

     Gladys Irene Pearson was born on 15 January 1919 at Ronan, MT, USA. She was the daughter of Clinton Wilbur Pearson and Bessie Adelaide White. Gladys Irene Pearson married Lloyd Robert Johnson on 11 September 1938 at Portland, Multnomah, OR, USA. Gladys Irene Pearson died on 21 December 2009 at age 90.
     Gladys Irene Pearson felt a call on her life, when she was a young teenager, to devote herself to full time ministry. She was a gifted speaker, preacher and teacher of the Word of God, and always had a powerfully anointed message to deliver.

After graduation from L.I.F.E. Bible College in Los Angeles in 1941, she and her husband Lloyd began over 60 years of ministry with the Foursquare Gospel Church, their first assignment among many being a tiny church in Columbia City, Oregon on the banks of the mighty Columbia River.

Several years later they embarked on an evangelistic tour with Gladys' sister and her husband, Norma and Roy Mourer. The Mourer-Johnson Evangelistic Party criss-crossed the United States, Canada and Mexico in a Spartan trailer between the years of 1948-1950.

Gladys' ministry progressed through the next several years by assisting Lloyd in his work with World Vision, Youth for Christ and Billy Graham's film ministry. As the Christian Education Director in the Portland Foursquare Church, Gladys ran a Sunday School program for over 1500 children every Sunday. From there, Gladys pastored the Oakland Foursquare Church and then moved to Arcadia, California in 1967 where she was senior pastor of Victory Chapel Foursquare Church. There she was lovingly known as "Sister Johnson," for 21 years, until her retirement in 1988.¹ Her married name was Johnson.

     Clinton Wilbur Pearson Jr was born on 14 August 1921 at Ronan, Montana, USA.¹ He was the son of Clinton Wilbur Pearson and Bessie Adelaide White. Clinton Wilbur Pearson Jr died on 13 January 2007 at Lake Oswego, Oregon, at age 85.¹ He was buried at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Roy, OR.¹
     Clinton Wilbur Pearson Jr was was a Portland Longshoreman for 35 years. He was an active and past president of the Rose City Barber Shop Chapter. Clinton enjoyed singing, music, reading, gardening, animals, exploring Oregon and was an active supporter of many non-profit social organizations.¹ He served his country as a Merchant Marine during WWII. He was involved in the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Pacific theaters supplying our troops with ammunition. He was honorably discharged as a 3rd Mate in Navigation.¹ He lived in 1924; moved to Portland, Oregon when he was three years old.¹
